Pre-License Classroom Courses
Objective: Our courses consist of 33 3/4 classroom hours, designed to provide a comprehensive background in each of the six subject matters.
The following courses are approved by the Nebraska Real Estate Commission and the Nebraska Department of Education for 30 clock hours each.
Tuition for classroom courses is $170.00. Textbooks range from $45.00 to $75.00 per course.
Tuition for home study courses is $205.00. Textbooks range from $45.00 to $75.00 per course.
0040 REAL ESTATE PRINCIPLES & PRACTICES
A study of the Principles & Practices of real estate will give the student an overview of all the facets of real estate. This course introduces the student to the characteristics of land, ownership, and rights inherent in owning real estate, selling and buying procedures, loans and financing, leasing and managing real property, tax aspects of real estate investments, appraising real estate, legal descriptions, land use controls and fair housing laws. 0041 REAL ESTATE LAW
A study of the law as it applies to real estate. Among the topics covered will be the need to identify real property by legal description, the conveyances that transfer ownership interest and rights, the various contracts used in transactions, and an overview of contract law. (Home study available)
0042 REAL ESTATE FINANCE
This course covers the various types of real estate financing, the lending institution's role, sources of funds and factors that affect their supply. The availability of loans, current interest rates, and the provisions of mortgage instruments are covered. Finance should be of interest to the real estate professional, the investor, and the home owner. (Home study available)
0043 REAL ESTATE INVESTMENT
Offers an overview and evaluates the nature of real estate investments. The advantages and disadvantages of investing are discussed. Financing of investments, tax savings, return on investment, and depreciation schedules are covered. A MUST for the first time investor.
0044 PROPERTY MANAGEMENT
Designed to give the student knowledge in managing residential, office, commercial, shopping centers and special purpose properties, merchandising space, tenant selection and relations, maintenance, and owner relationship. Ideal for those interested in property management, the investor, and salespersons of investment property. (Home study available)
0045 NEBRASKA REAL ESTATE SALES & BROKERAGE
Sales & Brokerage defines the role of the salesperson and the broker. The course begins with a discussion of portions of the Nebraska Real Estate Licensing Act which define the obligations of salespersons and brokers to clients and customers. Communication skills, time management, listing, marketing and closing techniques, and how to obtain and service listings complete this course. (Home study available)
